A Blogging Blog by Mr. Blog

Where am I going? I was just born several years ago in early 2000 and it seems that I may have hit the height of my life already.

This isn’t fair.

At least I’m doing better than my mom, “Chat Room.” She’s hanging around and looks as if she will be okay, but she has taken on more than her fair share of controversy here recently.

My cousin, “MySpace,” is doing great now, but his life expectancy may not be too long. The next new, new thing might overtake him and leave him in the dust.

Lucky for me, I am accepted in both the business world and the social world. And while my death may actually come from the next latest and greatest (probably spawned from me by the way), I’m not yet irrelevant.

I look back into history, and it seems that as little as 200 years ago, technology outlived the average human. These days, humans are seeing more technology and changes within that technology than three or four generations before them could have ever imagined. But there’s a reason that I may never completely die, because I, Mr. Blog, can blog about nothing and everything at the same time and someone, somewhere, will stop and read.

Yes, believe it or not, Terrence Ou, our man wandering about China, is finally returning to the good ol' US of A. Sometime, tomorrow (December 19), he'll be landing at DFW.

Terrence returns after a lengthy excursion in China, where he finalized some contracts and made some new contacts. It was a quite a trip and we'll have Terrence share some details soon.

Being Creative in a Technical World

Good design is easy to spot. In a nutshell, it is memorable, visually pleasing, the message conveys its purpose and it represents the brand well. And it is no wonder. That is what graphic designers are trained to do.

Web design follows the same principals of design and elements of design. The same tricks and solutions work aesthetically. But, there are 2 other factors that make the problem solving end a bit tricky:

Functionality and usablility.

And those are big. The added dimensions for web design make it a challenging medium. Knowing what will happen to your design as it is being coded, understanding why users may not “get it”, and designing with scalability in mind are things that only seasoned web designers can foresee. Companies who hire designers who are not familiar with the inner workings of the internet are often left with a beautiful but short-lived website.

Do yourself a favor. Hire specialists, experts in web design, people who know their craft and are passionate about it. There are web firms geared towards all sizes of businesses and projects. And there are firms like Zunch, who offer several service levels from start-up to enterprise. Do a bit of research and don’t sell your company short. Instead, invest in the best web presence your budget can handle.

Build a site that you can grow on. Let us know how we can help!

Zuncherific!

This year has certainly been an "interesting" one for Zünch. Through it all, the development team at Zünch has worked tirelessly to maintain our high standards for delivering quality sites to our customers. We anticipate launching several sites before the holidays.

Next year looks to be big for the dev team. I can't say much right now but we are currently planning and developing new cutting edge systems designed to simplify the creation of small, medium and large websites. We're all very excited about this new project and can't wait to unveil it.

Stayed tuned for more details.

Steroid Scandal Rocks Foosball Competition

I understand that competition is healthy, and I understand that bragging rights are up for grabs.  But something is a little, well, fishy lately.

The once gentle and calm Amit Pandya has suddenly become aggressive and violent at the foosball table.  Shots are now being taken that a week ago he wouldn’t, or couldn't have tried.  His velocity is off the charts!  Perhaps he’s on the “juice”?  Maybe he’s sharing with the other player who will remain nameless (Chris Gomez) that has ADMITTED to using steroids!

That’s right, steroids.  Baseball, Track & Field, Football, and now – Foosball have all been tarnished by the use of performance enhancing drugs.

It’s a shame, really.  To resort to drug use in order to gain a competitive advantage.  Tsk!  Tsk!

To be fair, the Gomez did claim that he had to receive a steroid shot for a medical condition – in his shoulder.  The same shoulder that is used to provide power to his patented “Gomez” 5 man shot.  Hmm…

Perhaps random drug testing should be implemented to prevent this type of abuse.

At any rate, now that the secret is out, let’s watch and see if the sudden increases in performance mysteriously disappear.
